Sahtu Press authors coming to Lao Heritage Foundation gala

Lao heritage Nor and Binly

Nor Sanavongsay, author of the Lao American children’s book A Sticky Mess and Krysada Panusith Phounsiri, author of Dance Among Elephants will be joining the Lao Heritage Foundation at the Herndon Community Center on Saturday, September 26th in Virginia. Tickets are $35. Children under 12 get in for $5. The even also includes food, live music, and performances by Lao Heritage Foundation students. Alcohol will be available for purchase.

The authors will speak briefly on the importance of art and literature in their lives and what it can mean for the community as it works to pass on its traditions to the next generation. It will be an inspiring talk that comes at an important time as the Lao community reflects on 40 years since the end of the war and the beginning of the Lao diaspora for over 700,000 Lao around the world.
