Lao artist highlight: Lina Luangrath

Lina  Luangrath was one of the big highlights of the recent Legacies of War benefit Fashion and Philanthropy. Born in Chonburi, Thailand, she came to the US as a refugee with her family, with many of her formative years spent in the Chicago area.
She began her interest in music early, singing in churches, elementary school and local community events. She toured nationally with Elao Entertainment when she was 16, and has continued to pursue her passion in college, graduating with a BA in Music and a minor in psychology, which is leading to her ambition to get a masters in Music Therapy. She’s demonstrated strong potential as part of the next generation of artists in the Lao American  community.
