Asians Doing Everything recently did a profile on Soudary Kittivong-Greenbaum, one of the co-founders of the SatJaDham Lao Literary Project.
Established on April 11th, 1995, the SatJaDham Lao literary project was one of the oldest continuous networks of Laotian American writers in existence. Eventually, the group would convene 7 national conferences of Laotian writers and readers. They produced five anthologies of Lao American writings between 1995 to 2001 before going inactive. Many members continued to write and contribute to community building including organizing nonprofits such as the Lao Heritage Foundation, and the Center for Lao Studies. SatJaDham produced some of the first works of Lao American voices in their own words on their own terms in the aftermath of the Laotian Civil War.
